February 8, 2024: Woonsocket, RI 02895 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI) and the host Woonsocket Villa Novans (Woonsocket, RI), saw Portsmouth's basketball squad hold off Woonsocket by a count of 51-50.
With the victory, Portsmouth upgrades its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Patriots host Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI) to play the Hawks in a Division 1 challenge on Friday, February 9. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 12-6. Bishop Hendricken won 60-30 in their recent league challenge against Cranston East (Cranston, RI)
Next up, the Villa Novans play the North Kingstown Skippers (North Kingstown, RI) in a Division 1 challenge, on Friday, February 9. Woonsocket will attempt to upgrade on its 4-15 season record. The Skippers come into the challenge with a 8-12 record after their 59-42 league loss to Westerly (Westerly, RI).
