Goliad Tigers (Goliad, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX), 69-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Goliad upgrades its record to 6-15 on the campaign. The Tigers host Mathis (Mathis, TX) to play the Pirates in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 8-20. Mathis won 48-29 in their recent league bout against Skidmore-Tynan (Skidmore, TX)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats (Bloomington, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Taft will attempt to move on its 8-19 season record. The Bobcats/Lady Cats enter the game with a 16-14 record after their 66-49 league loss to Odem (Odem, TX).
