In Wednesday's league outing, the Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) basketball squad beat the visiting Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), by a margin of 71-54.

The Grizzlies (6-9) will now prepare for their outing against PikeView (Princeton, WV). The Panthers go into the Coalfield AA outing with a 3-14 record. In their last outing, PikeView was topped by Princeton (Princeton, WV), 85-55, in a non-league outing.

The Patriots now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Oak Hill for a Coalfield AA outing on Friday, February 11. Independence will clash with a Red Devils squad coming off a 63-53 non-league win over Riverside (Belle, WV). The Red Devils record now stands at 6-7.
