Illinois High School Basketball - Pittsfield nips Jersey
February 9, 2022: Pittsfield, IL 62363 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Pittsfield Saukees (Pittsfield, IL) and the visiting Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), saw Pittsfield's basketball squad hold off Jersey by a count of 59-56.
With the victory, Pittsfield upgrades its record to 10-10 on the campaign. The Saukees host Barry Western (Barry, IL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 11. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 5-20. Barry Western lost 64-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Brown County (Mt. Sterling, IL)
Next up, the Panthers play the Waterloo Bulldogs (Waterloo, IL) in a Mississippi Valley challenge, on Friday, February 11. Jersey will attempt to upgrade on its 12-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 16-12 record after their 43-42 non-league loss to Salem (Salem, IL).
