New Jersey High School Basketball - Payne Tech can't hold off Union City
February 9, 2023: Union City, NJ 07087 The Union City Soaring Eagles basketball team scored 64 points and restricted the visiting Payne Tech Lions to 60 in the Soaring Eagles non-league victory on Thursday.
The Soaring Eagles now sport a 11-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hillsborough for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 11. Union City will battle a Raiders team coming off a 58-30 non-league win over Princeton Day (Princeton, NJ). The Raiders record now stands at 16-6.
The Lions (12-9) will now prepare for their contest against Central (Newark, NJ). The Blue Devils come into the non-league contest with a 5-17 record. In their last contest, Central was nudged by Immaculate Conception (Montclair, NJ), 68-51, in a league contest.
