North Carolina High School Basketball - Asheboro overwhelms Montgomery Central
February 9, 2024: Asheboro, NC 27203 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) and the visiting Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), saw Asheboro's basketball squad wallop Montgomery Central by a tally of 85-27.
With the victory, Asheboro improves its record to 18-3 on the campaign. The Blue Comets host Ledford (Thomasville, NC) to confront the Panthers in a 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 6-16. Ledford lost 71-31 in their recent league challenge against North Davidson (Lexington, NC)
Next up, the Timberwolves confront the Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC) in a 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge, on Tuesday, February 13. Montgomery Central will attempt to improve on its 2-16 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 22-1 record after their 79-60 league win over Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC).
