February 9, 2024: Fitzgerald, GA 31750 In Friday's league outing, the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) basketball squad beat the visiting Jeff Davis Yellowjackets (Hazlehurst, GA), by a count of 46-30.
The Purple Hurricane (14-10) will now prepare for their outing against Cook (Adel, GA). The Hornets go into the AA Region 1 outing with a 11-13 record. In their last outing, Cook was topped by Clinch County (Homerville, GA), 54-52, in a non-league outing.
The Yellowjackets now hold a 6-18 record. They play next when they travel to Sumter County for a AA Region 1 outing on Saturday, February 10. Jeff Davis will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 56-53 league win over Worth County (Sylvester, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 9-15.
