The Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Rosman Tigers to 33 in the Mountaineers league triumph on Friday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 15-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Unicoi County for a non-league contest on Monday, February 12. Mitchell will meet a Blue Devils team coming off a 75-64 non-league win over University (Johnson City, TN). The Blue Devils record now stands at 21-10.

The Tigers (3-18) will now prepare for their contest against NCSSM: Morganton (Morganton, NC). The enter the 1A/2A Western Highlands contest with a 6-12 record. In their last contest, NCSSM: Morganton was routed by Draughn (Valdese, NC), 82-72, in a league contest.
