Illinois High School Basketball - Reed-Custer can't hold off Coal City

The Coal City Coalers basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Reed-Custer Comets to 49 in the Coalers league triumph on Thursday.

The Coalers now sport a 5-22 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lisle for a Illinois Central 8 contest on Tuesday, February 15. Coal City will battle a Lions team coming off a 66-56 league win over Wilmington (Wilmington, IL). The Lions record now stands at 17-10.

The Comets (13-12) will now prepare for their contest against Streator (Streator, IL). The Bulldogs enter the Illinois Central 8 contest with a 18-7 record. In their last contest, Streator nudged Herscher (Herscher, IL), 49-36, in a league contest.
