Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains (Bascom, OH) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers (Sandusky, OH), 43-17 in a league bout.

With the win, Hopewell-Loudon upgrades its record to 7-13 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Woodmore (Elmore, OH) to confront the Wildcats in a Sandusky Bay - River challenge on Thursday, February 15. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 12-9. Woodmore lost 48-26 in their recent league challenge against Gibsonburg (Gibsonburg, OH)

Next up, the Panthers confront the Monroeville Eagles (Monroeville, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 12. St. Mary Central Catholic will attempt to improve on its 0-20 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 63-42 league win over St. Paul (Norwalk, OH).
