Louisiana High School Basketball - St. Thomas More nips New Iberia
February 11, 2023: Lafayette, LA 70508 St. Thomas More Cougars (Lafayette, LA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA), 59-54 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, St. Thomas More upgrades its record to 28-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Northside (Lafayette, LA) to play the Vikings in a 4A District 4 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 15-11. Northside lost 60-49 in their recent league bout against Lafayette Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA)
Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA) in a 5A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, February 14. New Iberia will attempt to upgrade on its 25-3 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 50-32 league loss to Lafayette (Lafayette, LA).
