Wisconsin High School Basketball - Newman nips Platteville
February 11, 2023: Wausau, WI 54401 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newman Fighting Cardinals (Wausau, WI) and the visiting Platteville Hillmen (Platteville, WI), saw Newman's basketball squad hold off Platteville by a tally of 70-65.
With the victory, Newman improves its record to 17-2 on the campaign. The Fighting Cardinals travel to Marathon (Marathon, WI) to play the Red Raiders in a Marawood - South challenge on Friday, February 17. The Red Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 16-4.
Next up, the Hillmen play the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks (Prairie du Chien, WI) in a Southwest Wisconsin challenge, on Friday, February 17. Platteville will attempt to improve on its 15-7 season record.
