The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds basketball team scored 50 points and held the host Loyola Crusaders to 33 in the Thunderbirds league triumph on Monday.

The Thunderbirds now sport a 10-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to New Ulm Cathedral for a A Section 2 contest on Thursday, February 15. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will meet a Greyhounds team coming off a 62-56 league win over Cedar Mountain (Morgan, MN). The Greyhounds record now stands at 11-13.

The Crusaders (11-13) will now prepare for their contest against Sibley East (Arlington, MN). The Wolverines enter the non-league contest with a 12-11 record. In their last contest, Sibley East ran past Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (Winthrop, MN), 61-40, in a non-league contest.
