In Monday's non-league match, the visiting North Pontotoc Vikings basketball team scored a tight 44-38 triumph over the Newton County Cougars.

In their next game, the Vikings meet the Tishomingo County Braves (Iuka, MS) in a non-league match, on Friday, February 16. North Pontotoc will attempt to better on its 18-10 season record.
