Ohio High School Basketball - Wellston winner over Clay
February 13, 2024: Wellston, OH 45692 The Wellston Golden Rockets (Wellston, OH) basketball felled the visiting Clay Panthers (Portsmouth, OH), 54-41 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Golden Rockets (6-15) will now prepare for their test against Vinton County (McArthur, OH). The Vikings go into the Tri-Valley I test with a 16-5 record. In their last test, Vinton County thwarted Meigs (Pomeroy, OH), 47-37, in a league test.
The Panthers now own a 3-17 record. They play next when they travel to Glenwood for a Southern Ohio I test on Friday, February 16. Clay will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 54-53 non-league win over Peebles (Peebles, OH). The Tigers record now stands at 9-12.
