February 13, 2025: Johnston, IA 50131 Johnston Dragons (Johnston, IA) supporters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Prairie Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA), 85-56 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Johnston advances its record to 20-0 on the year. The Dragons travel to North Polk (Alleman, IA) to face the Comets in a non-league match on Monday, February 17. The Comets enter the match with a record of 20-1. North Polk won 68-23 in their recent league match against Boone (Boone, IA)
The Hawks now own a 19-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jefferson for a Mississippi Valley match on Friday, February 14. Prairie will face a Hawks squad coming off a 55-43 non-league loss to Iowa City (Iowa City, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 8-12.
