Illinois High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon thwarts Cahokia

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) and the host Cahokia Comanches (Cahokia, IL), observed Mt. Vernon's basketball team knock off Cahokia by a score of 61-43.

The Rams (16-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Marshall County (Benton, KY). The Marshals come into the non-league challenge with a 25-1 record. In their last challenge, Marshall County prevailed over Mayfield (Mayfield, KY), 68-43, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Comanches encounter the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) in a South Seven challenge, on Saturday, February 15. Cahokia will attempt to improve on its 9-18 season record. The Terriers come into the challenge with a 9-17 record after their 49-40 non-league loss to Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL).
