Minnesota High School Basketball - Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop tops New Ulm Cathedral
February 15, 2024: New Ulm, MN 56073 Spectators at Thursday's league test between the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN) and the host New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds (New Ulm, MN), witnessed Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's basketball squad topple New Ulm Cathedral by a margin of 67-59.
The Thunderbirds (11-15) will now prepare for their test against Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN). The Indians go into the A Section 2 test with a 24-2 record. In their last test, Sleepy Eye notched a victory over Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman (Granada, MN), 70-53, in a league test.
The Greyhounds now own a 11-14 record. They play next when they travel to Madelia for a A Section 2 test on Monday, February 19. New Ulm Cathedral will encounter a Blackhawks squad coming off a 76-45 league loss to Cedar Mountain (Morgan, MN). The Blackhawks record now stands at 4-22.
