West Virginia High School Basketball - Nitro crushes Nicholas County

February 16, 2024: Nitro, WV 25143

Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV), 91-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nitro upgrades its record to 18-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Winfield (Winfield, WV) to play the Generals in a Cardinal bout on Saturday, February 17. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 6-13. Winfield won 53-52 in their recent league bout against Poca (Poca, WV)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Hurricane Redskins (Hurricane, WV) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Nicholas County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Redskins go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 64-61 non-league win over Spring Valley (Huntington, WV).
