Maryland High School Basketball - Southern nips Mountain Ridge

Southern Rams (Oakland, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD), 48-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Southern upgrades its record to 2-11 on the campaign. The Rams host Union (Mount Storm, WV) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, February 20. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 0-21. Union lost 69-65 in their recent non-league bout against Hancock (Hancock, MD)

Next up, the Miners play the Boonsboro Warriors (Boonsboro, MD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 20. Mountain Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 62-61 non-league loss to Clear Spring (Clear Spring, MD).
