New Mexico High School Basketball - Newcomb knocks off Zuni
February 18, 2025: Zuni, NM 87327 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) and the host Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM), observed Newcomb's basketball team overcome Zuni by a score of 56-44.
The Skyhawks (16-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Eagles come into the 3A District 1 challenge with a 20-5 record. In their last challenge, Navajo Prep defeated Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM), 72-33, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Thursday, February 20. Zuni will attempt to improve on its 4-21 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 15-9 record after their 61-37 league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).
