Minnesota High School Basketball - McGregor nips Aitkin
February 20, 2024: McGregor, MN 55760 McGregor Mercuries (McGregor, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Aitkin Gobblers (Aitkin, MN), 49-43 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, McGregor upgrades its record to 10-13 on the campaign. The Mercuries host Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] (Isle, MN) to play the Huskies in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 22. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 5-18. Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] won 42-40 in their recent league bout against St. John's Prep (Collegeville, MN)
Next up, the Gobblers play the Staples-Motley Cardinals (Staples, MN) in a AA Section 7 bout, on Friday, February 23. Aitkin will attempt to upgrade on its 3-22 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 6-19 record after their 79-31 league loss to Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, MN).
