Pine River-Backus Tigers (Pine River, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting McGregor Mercuries (McGregor, MN), 70-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pine River-Backus upgrades its record to 20-4 on the season. The Tigers host Onamia (Onamia, MN) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 26. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 8-15. Onamia lost 81-61 in their recent non-league bout against Northland (Remer, MN)

Next up, the Mercuries clash with the Two Harbors Agates (Two Harbors, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 22. McGregor will attempt to upgrade on its 6-17 season record.
