February 22, 2024: Independence, MO 64053 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO) and the host Van Horn Falcons (Independence, MO), saw Lafayette's basketball squad overcome Van Horn by a tally of 58-50.
With the victory, Lafayette improves its record to 9-12 on the campaign. The Fighting Irish host Savannah (Savannah, MO) to confront the Savages in a Midland Empire challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Savages come into the challenge with a record of 9-18. Savannah lost 71-38 in their recent league challenge against Maryville (Maryville, MO)
Next up, the Falcons confront the Kearney Bulldogs (Kearney, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 29. Van Horn will attempt to improve on its 8-19 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 10-10 record after their 76-62 league loss to Park Hill (Kansas City, MO).
