Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls (Cliff, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM), 51-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cliff upgrades its record to 21-2 on the campaign. The Cowboys/Cowgirls host Reserve (Reserve, NM) to play the Mountaineers in a A District 2 bout on Saturday, February 24. The Mountaineers come into the bout with a record of 13-9. Reserve won 51-48 in their recent league bout against Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM)

Next up, the Steers play the Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM) in a A District 2 bout, on Saturday, February 24. Magdalena will attempt to upgrade on its 20-5 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 16-9 record after their 40-39 non-league win over Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM).
