In Saturday's non-league match, the host Cooper Cougars softball team scored a tight 8-1 win over the Big Spring Steers.

The Cougars (5-4) will now prepare for their match against Elgin (Elgin, TX). The Wildcats come into the non-league match with a 0-5 record. In their last match, Elgin was routed by Dripping Springs (Dripping Springs, TX), 11-0, in a non-league match.
