Sweeny Bulldogs (Sweeny, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wimberley Texans (Wimberley, TX), 70-66 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sweeny upgrades its record to 19-17 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Iowa Colony (Iowa Colony, TX) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Monday, February 26. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 22-14. Iowa Colony won 71-45 in their recent non-league bout against Davenport (San Antonio, TX)
