The Pierz Pioneers basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the visiting Zimmerman Thunder to 63 in the Pioneers non-league victory on Thursday.

The Pioneers now sport a 17-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Albany for a AA Section 6 contest on Friday, February 25. Pierz will battle a Huskies team coming off a 60-29 non-league win over Little Falls (Little Falls, MN). The Huskies record now stands at 21-4.

The Thunder (12-10) will now prepare for their contest against Milaca (Milaca, MN). The Wolves come into the non-league contest with a 14-9 record. In their last contest, Milaca prevailed over Pine City (Pine City, MN), 57-48, in a non-league contest.
