Pillager Huskies (Pillager, MN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Pierz Pioneers (Pierz, MN), 72-70 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pillager upgrades its record to 13-11 on the campaign. The Huskies host Moose Lake/Willow River (Moose Lake, MN) to play the Rebels in a non-league bout on Thursday, March 2. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 14-11. Moose Lake/Willow River lost 59-44 in their recent league game against Pequot Lakes (Pequot Lakes, MN)

With the defeat, Pierz moves to 5-17 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Milaca (Milaca, MN) to face the Wolves in a AA Section 6 game on Friday, March 3. The Wolves enter the game with a record of 18-5.
