New Mexico High School Softball - Mayfield nudges Hobbs

February 24, 2023: Las Cruces, NM 88007

Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hobbs Eagles (Hobbs, NM), 3-2 in a non-league match.

The Trojans now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Cueva for a non-league match on Saturday, March 4. Mayfield will face a Bears squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over Gallup (Gallup, NM). The Bears record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Hobbs falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM) to face the Knights in a non-league match on Friday, February 24. The Knights enter the match with a record of 2-0. Organ Mountain won 12-2 in their recent non-league match against Belen (Belen, NM)
