Fredonia Hillbillies (Fredonia, NY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Dunkirk Marauders (Dunkirk, NY), 69-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Fredonia upgrades its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Hillbillies host Salamanca (Salamanca, NY) to play the Warriors in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West bout on Tuesday, March 2. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 3-4. Salamanca won 46-44 in their recent non-league bout against Ellicottville (Ellicottville, NY)

Next up, the Marauders play the Silver Creek Black Knights (Silver Creek, NY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 27. Dunkirk will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Black Knights come into the bout with a 3-4 record after their 50-49 league loss to Chautauqua Lake (Mayville, NY).
