The Watersmeet Nimrods basketball team scored 69 points and held the host Baraga Vikings to 54 in the Nimrods non-league triumph on Monday.

The Nimrods now sport a 5-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ontonagon for a Copper Mountain - Porcupine contest on Tuesday, February 28. Watersmeet will battle a Gladiators team coming off a 59-57 league loss to Johnston (Bessemer, MI). The Gladiators record now stands at 11-8.

The Vikings (0-18) will now prepare for their contest against Jeffers (Painesdale, MI). The Jets enter the Copper Mountain - Copper County contest with a 16-3 record. In their last contest, Jeffers ran past L'Anse (L'Anse, MI), 73-45, in a non-league contest.
