Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Western Harnett Eagles (Lillington, NC), 9-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Hoggard upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Vikings host Croatan (Newport, NC) to battle the Cougars in a non-league test on Tuesday, February 28. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 0-1. Croatan lost 4-1 in their recent non-league test against New Bern (New Bern, NC)

With the defeat, Western Harnett falls to 0-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to battle the Vikings in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 1. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 0-1. Union Pines lost 10-9 in their recent non-league test against Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC)
