Lytle Pirates (Lytle, TX) fans left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad beat the visiting Harlingen South Hawks (Harlingen, TX), 9-2 in a non-league test.

The Pirates now hold a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Central for a non-league test on Saturday, February 28. Lytle will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 8-6 non-league win over South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 4-3.

The Hawks (3-3) will now prepare for their outing against Pace (Brownsville, TX). The Vikings come into the 5A Region IV District 32 outing with a 4-7 record. In their last outing, Pace was overwhelmed by Jourdanton (Jourdanton, TX), 14-8, in a non-league outing.
