The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Ponderosa Bruins (Shingle Springs, CA) and the visiting Union Mine Diamondbacks (El Dorado, CA), saw Ponderosa's baseball team beat Union Mine by a margin of 8-1.

The Bruins (5-0) will now prepare for their battle against Woodcreek (Roseville, CA). The Timberwolves enter the Capital Athletic League battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Woodcreek was overwhelmed by West Park (Roseville, CA), 7-3, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Diamondbacks face the Foresthill Wildfires (Foresthill, CA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, March 3. Union Mine will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Wildfires enter the battle with a 1-2 record after their 12-11 non-league loss to Delta (Clarksburg, CA).
