Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 7-5 in a non-league test.

With the win, Draughn upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Wildcats host Patton (Morganton, NC) to battle the Panthers in a non-league test on Monday, March 4. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 0-1. Patton lost 14-0 in their recent non-league test against Maiden (Maiden, NC)

With the defeat, Ashe County falls to 0-1 on the season. The Huskies travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league test on Tuesday, March 5. The Cardinals come into the test with a record of 0-0.
