Villa Park Spartans (Villa Park, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Deer Valley Skyhawks (Glendale, AZ), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lakewood for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 1. Villa Park will face a Lancers squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Mountain View (Mesa, AZ). The Lancers record now stands at 1-3.
