Benton Rangers (Benton, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL), 34-32 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Benton upgrades its record to 31-3 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to Teutopolis (Teutopolis, IL) to play the Wooden Shoes in a non-league bout on Monday, March 4. The Wooden Shoes come into the bout with a record of 24-10. Teutopolis won 61-55 in their recent non-league bout against St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL)
