Blum Bobcats (Blum, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Abbott Panthers (Abbott, TX), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hamilton for a 2A Region I District 7 challenge on Monday, March 13.

With the loss, Abbott falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Avalon (Avalon, TX) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Avalon won 20-10 in their recent non-league challenge against Gholson (Waco, TX)
