In Saturday's non-league contest, the Ripley Tigers (Ripley, MS) softball team overwhelmed the host Alcorn Central Bears (Glen, MS), by a margin of 8-0.

With the triumph, Ripley moves its record to 4-5 on the year. The Tigers host Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS) to play the Braves in a 4A Region 1 contest on Tuesday, March 5. The Braves come into the contest with a record of 6-1. Tishomingo County won 6-2 in their recent non-league contest against Central (Florence, AL)

In their next game, the Bears play the Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS) in a 3A Region 1 contest, on Tuesday, March 5. Alcorn Central will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record.
