In Saturday's non-league contest, the DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS) softball team held off the host Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS), by a margin of 2-1.

With the triumph, DeSoto Central moves its record to 6-0 on the year. The Jaguars travel to Saltillo (Saltillo, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 2. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 2-3. Saltillo won 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against Hamilton (Hamilton, MS)
