The Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) softball routed the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), 11-3 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Bulldogs (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Providence (Charlotte, NC). The Panthers go into the Southwestern 4A bout with a 2-0 record.

The Spartans now possess a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Union Academy for a non-league bout on Tuesday, March 5. Sun Valley will confront a Cardinals squad coming off a 10-7 non-league loss to Covenant Day (Matthews, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 1-1.
