March 4, 2024: Oceanside, CA 92054 The Torrey Pines Falcons softball team scored 5 runs and restricted the host Oceanside Pirates to 3 in the Falcons non-league victory on Monday.
The Falcons (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against Rancho Bernardo (San Diego, CA). The Broncos go into the non-league battle with a 4-1 record. In their last battle, Rancho Bernardo nudged University City (San Diego, CA), 11-0, in a non-league battle.
The Pirates now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Coastal Academy for a non-league battle on Wednesday, March 6. Oceanside will meet a Stingrays squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Olympian (Chula Vista, CA). The Stingrays record now stands at 2-4.

Falcons defeat, Oceanside in Cougar Classic Gold Bracket Quarterfinals
The Torrey Pines Lady Falcons defeated the Oceanside Pirates 5-3 in the 40 team cougar classic gold bracket quarterfinals in a game played at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. The Lady Falcons jumped out to a 5–0 lead after 2 1/2 innings and hung on for the victory. The Falcons banged out eight hits in five innings including three doubles, a triple and four singles. Sophomore Kylee Farber led the Falcon attack going 2-3 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Junior Kelly Whelihan went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored for the winners, and Sophomore catcher Mina Crouch went 2-2 with an RBI. Georgia Bilski picked up the win, tossing three shut out innings and Senior Kathryn McGINTY earned the save with three innings of relief, allowing no earned runs. The Falcons advance to the semi finals to play Rancho Bernardo tomorrow night at 5:45 PM.
