March 6, 2023: Athens, AL 35612 The Athens Golden Eagles soccer team scored 15 points and limited the visiting Tanner Rattlers to 0 in the Golden Eagles non-league victory on Monday.
Next, the Golden Eagles face the Westminster Christian Wildcats (Huntsville, AL) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, March 9. Athens will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 4-1 record after their 7-0 league win over Madison County (Gurley, AL).
The Rattlers now have a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering for a 1A-3A Area 8 contest on Tuesday, March 7. Tanner will face a Sentinels team coming off a 1-0 league win over Tanner (Tanner, AL). The Sentinels record now stands at 1-2.
