March 6, 2023: Charlotte, NC 28214 In Monday's non-league contest, the Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC) softball team overwhelmed the host West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 14-1.
With the triumph, Ashbrook moves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Greenwave host Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC) to play the Mountaineers in a Big South 3A contest on Tuesday, March 14. The Mountaineers come into the contest with a record of 0-2.
In their next game, the Hawks play the Chambers Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a Queen City 3A/4A contest, on Tuesday, March 7. West Mecklenburg will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 31-1 non-league loss to North Rowan (Spencer, NC).
