In Thursday's league bout, the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) baseball squad edged the visiting Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ), by a tally of 1-0.

Next up, the Firebirds encounter the San Luis Sidewinders (San Luis, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, March 7. Chaparral will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Sidewinders enter the bout with a 3-4 record after their 6-4 non-league loss to Williams Field (Gilbert, AZ).
