The Discovery Spartans baseball squad (Lake Alfred, FL), was edged 4-3 in Friday's non-league contest with the host Mulberry Panthers (Mulberry, FL)

With the triumph, Mulberry advances its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Fort Meade (Fort Meade, FL) to encounter the Miners in a non-league bout on Monday, March 10. The Miners enter the bout with a record of 9-3. Fort Meade lost 7-4 in their recent non-league bout against Santa Fe Catholic (Lakeland, FL)

The Spartans (3-7) will now prepare for their bout against Lake Placid (Lake Placid, FL). The Dragons enter the 3A District 11 bout with a 4-8 record. In their last bout, Lake Placid edged Hardee (Wauchula, FL), 7-3, in a non-league bout.
