The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) and the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), saw R-S Central's baseball team gain a win over McDowell by a tally of 11-4.

The Hilltoppers (4-0) will now prepare for their battle against Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Wolverines enter the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Polk County was overwhelmed by Mitchell (Bakersville, NC), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Titans face the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a non-league battle, on Monday, March 10. McDowell will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Mountaineers enter the battle with a 2-1 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
