In Friday's non-league contest, the Chester Volcanoes (Chester, CA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Esparto Spartans (Esparto, CA), by a margin of 14-4.

With the triumph, Chester moves its record to 1-3 on the year. The Volcanoes travel to Live Oak (Live Oak, CA) to play the Lions in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 9.
