In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Houston Mustangs lacrosse squad scored a tight 11-9 triumph over the Hoover Buccaneers.

The Mustangs (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Bartlett (Bartlett, TN). The Panthers go into the 2A Region 4 D1 challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Bartlett was edged by Collierville (Collierville, TN), 21-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers clash with the Oak Mountain Eagles (Birmingham, AL) in a AL East challenge, on Friday, March 14. Hoover will attempt to better on its 4-6 season record. The Eagles go into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 16-8 league win over Huntsville (Huntsville, AL).
